Hello, and Welcome! I’m Kate Carter, a Licensed Acupuncturist in Frederick, Maryland. I am also an avid kayaker, nature watcher, mother, and “muse” on the subject of health and wellness. This blog will be a place where I can share my “musings” on health from the perspective of Chinese Medicine. The Chinese have a unique way of looking at health which tends to break with our current western views. I enjoy “messing” with peoples’ ingrained ideas and teasing out new possibilities for crafting our health picture going forward. Our “chi” or “qi” is our very life force which flows within us through meridians, surfacing at acupuncture points which can be treated to change and redirect the flow when it has become imbalanced. The acupuncturist’s tools for doing that are needles and words. Words have the power to create and transform health as much as any other medicine. So a blog seems the perfect place to use my words to transform your and my experience of health.
Thanks for stopping by. I will appreciate any ideas, questions, or comments to help guide me in creating a resource for you and me to explore recovering control over our own health and well-being. Blogging is a new world to me, so hopefully I will catch on soon so that these musings can become a go-to source of inspiration! Oh! my! I’ve set a lofty goal for myself here. Nothing like going out on that limb for the sweetest fruit!
Congrats on your new blog, Mom! I’m excited to see where this takes you.
Hey K8! I love your new blog. I will try to link to it on mine. We are taking on a task of grabbing people at the root of illness: how they think, what they do each day, and how they surround themselves with negative ideas, emotions, etc. Thanks for being my partner in health.
